Trustees Meeting

December 20, 2017

The meeting was called to order at 4:06 p.m.  Present were Cathryn Clark-Dawe, Director, Nancy Picthall-French, Chairperson, Marty Bender, Treasurer, and Leslie Collins, Secretary.

The Secretary’s report for September was reviewed and accepted after a name was changed from Pike to Piper.

The Treasurer’s report through December 20 was reviewed and accepted.  Cathryn reviewed items she had purchased from various vendors.  Marty purchased a new projector and DVD player for movie nights.  He was able to get Quicken to print out balances for each line item for a six-month period.  He is no longer looking into purchasing a different bookkeeping system.

Old Business

John Harrigan is no longer coming in January to do his presentation.  He may reschedule in the future.

In January, Marty will try to contact a woman at the Cheshire Historical Society that might be able to help preserve Currie Sawyer’s diaries.  Marty is going to do a test run with the new converter (EZCap) using one of his cassettes.

The December movie had eleven people in attendance.  Tentative movie dates were chosen for the next four months:  Jan. 26th, Feb. 16th, Mar. 16th and Apr. 20th.  Marty will clear the dates with Therese.

Leslie reviewed the work completed on our Policies and defined what still needed to be done.  She gave a copy of her notes to Nancy.

The number patrons using each museum pass was discussed.  All were in agreement that each pass should be continued.  Nancy suggested that the passes be advertised on our Facebook page and the Webster Facebook Page a few days before school vacations.  Reinstating the pass for the Fells was postponed until the spring at renewal time.

The Select Board has agreed to have their January 16th meeting in the Library (at 6:30?). Nancy will serve snacks.  Leslie will chill the water.  Nancy will check on the exact time and get back to us.

The volunteer gifts were well received and appreciated.  Thank you, Nancy, for your efforts in ordering, delivering them to the library and calling each volunteer.

New Business

Marty received a questionnaire from Plodzik & Sanderson requiring responses and signatures from each trustee.  Nancy recorded responses and will submit the questionnaire.

Leslie gave Marty a receipt for a gift card purchased as a Christmas gift from Dunkin Donuts for $25.00.  Lesle will send Marylou Desmarais a thank you for her generous donation.

The meeting ended at 4:47 p.m.  The next meeting of the Webster Free Public Library will be on Wednesday, January 24, 2017 at 4 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,

Leslie Collins, Secretary
