Old Business

Marty reviewed the Investment policy.  He recommended that we continue with NY Life, which is yielding a 3% return.  All agreed.

Approximately 12 people attended The June movie night.   Before the movie Nancy opened the library for half an hour, however it was not utilized.  A movie will not be shown for July or August.  On August 9th The Historical Society will be featuring Guns of August at 2 p.m.  On October 21st a children’s movie will be shown as a matinee at 2 p.m.  Recommendations for children’s movies are encouraged and welcomed from parents.  On November 17th a movie will be shown at 7 p.m. and is yet to be determined.  Cathryn will announce the movies in the Grapevine.  Nancy suggested a “Hold the Date” format.

Nancy has sent three emails to John Harrigan and has not received a response.

Nancy has contacted Fish and Game and scheduled a talk about bobcats on Friday, April 6th at 1;00 p.m.  Nancy will send Fish and Game a reminder by March 6th, 2018.

Nancy presented a copy of the current Master Plan for the library (2006).  She included examples Master Plans from surrounding towns for libraries that are equal in size/population to Webster.   Ideas for our new Master Plan will be generated at next month’s meeting using these as a reference.

New Business

The Summer Reading Program, Build a Better World, begins on July 10th.  Volunteers are needed to read/provide snacks and are invited to sign up in the library.

Leslie addressed a potential security issue and has volunteered her husband to look into it.

Nancy wondered what our participation might be on Old Home Day this year.  This will be readdressed at next month’s meeting.

The meeting ended at 4:55 p.m.  The next meeting of the Webster Free Public Library will be on Wednesday, July 26th, 2017 at 4 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,

Leslie Collins, Secretary
