About the Solar Project Subcommittee
The Solar Project Subcommittee was created by the Webster Select Board by unanimous vote at the November 16, 2020 public meeting and has been tasked with working on the Deer Meadow Solar project, as being put forth by Olivewood Energy, aka Hopkinton Solar. The primary purposes of this subcommittee are to work on the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), look over the revised Payment in Lieu of Taxes (PILOT) agreement, and participate in the New Hampshire Site Evaluation Committee (NH SEC) approval process. This page will be updated with agendas, minutes, documents, and helpful links throughout the process. The contact person for this subcommittee is the Town Administrator.
General Solar Project Overview
The solar project, as currently being designed, is intended to be aproximately 75 Megawatts in size. That is estimated to power over 38,000 people and be the largest solar farm project in NH at the time of initial development. It spreads across several properties in Webster, as well as joint owned town land at the Webster/Hopkinton Transfer Station, and ties into the high voltage transmission lines running north/south through town near the Boscawen border.
Upcoming Important Dates
- Individual boards/committees (Planning Board, Conservation Commission, etc) will discuss their involvement, interests, and research as information becomes available from the developers throughout the MOU process.
