1000 Books before Kindergarten

Have you heard of the 1000 Books challenge?  It has been around for a few years, but New Hampshire has just gotten on board.  I’m sure this is no news to parents, but studies show that children who are read to regularly when they are young—even newborn babies—have an easier time in school.

If you have children younger than kindergarten age, come on down to the library and sign up for NH 1000 Books Before Kindergarten.  We’ll get you started with a reading log and a list of some fun books to read aloud.  The first 20 families to turn in a list of 100 books will receive a “NH 1000 Books Before Kindergarten” canvas bag to help carry the rest of their books home.
