Webster Free Public Library

Trustees Meeting by Teleconference

Wednesday, April 22, 2020

The teleconference began at 4:08 p.m.  Present were Cathryn Clark-Dawe, Director, Nancy Picthall-French, Chairperson, Marty Bender, Treasurer, and Leslie Collins, Secretary.  The teleconference took place on FreeConferenceCall.com.

The Secretary’s report for 4-8-2020 was reviewed and approved after “Summary of duties during March 2020” was changed to “Summary of duties during April 2020”.

The Treasurer’s report for April 22, 2020 was reviewed and approved.

Old Business

Nancy got in touch with Dot Bourque and Leslie Palmer regarding the Giving Tree.  Leslie Palmer is pursuing the matter as the Welfare Officer in Webster.  Due to confidentiality issues, the implementation of a Giving Tree would be a challenging endeavor for the library.  However, we would wholeheartedly support one when/if one comes to fruition.

Cathryn is listing the new arrivals on the website and patrons are reserving them.  Nancy requested that new authors, in particular, be given consideration and support.  Cathryn assured her that they are considered if they meet the criteria (reviews from various library resources).

The decision to reopen the library was deferred until our next meeting.  Governor Sununu is making an announcement about The Stay at Home Order later this week and the State Library has developed a task force.  The decision to open will be made in a gradual, informed manner protecting our patrons, staff and volunteers.

New Business

Cathryn will be conducting the Book Group (April 30 @ 7:15 p.m.) by Zoom.  She purchased the unlimited time limit session for $14.99 and appropriated the money from petty cash.

The toilet is now flushing sufficiently at the library.

The NHLTA is holding a Virtual Roundtable on April 24 on COVID 19.  Leslie will review their website for notes or a summary of their findings.

Nancy complimented Cathryn on the many resources she was posting on Facebook/Library Website for patrons, children and students.

Audubon is scheduled to present on May 22, 2020.  A decision to cancel or proceed with the presentation will be made at our next meeting.

The teleconference ended at 4:42 p.m.  The next teleconference will be on Wednesday, May 6, 2020 at 4:00 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,

Leslie Collins, Secretary
