How long does it take to receive and Interlibrary loan item?

The Webster Free Public Library belongs to the New Hampshire Automated Information System. Requests can be placed electronically to New Hampshire member libraries and are delivered once a week by van. Usually, it takes about two weeks to receive an item from another library in New Hampshire.

If the material is not located in the state, and we have to request from out-of-state locations using the mail, it can take up to three months. We work hard to have your request sent out within 24 hours. Once your request is sent out, it takes the other libraries time to process your request, and then it takes more time to ship the material to us. If the item is not available for ILL at a library that owns the material, another library must then be asked to loan the item.
